Erica Aubé is currently in her final year of a Bachelor of Music degree at l’Université de Moncton, where she has been studying voice with her professor, Lisa Roy, since September 2018. In addition to majoring in voice, she is specializing in vocal pedagogy.
Erica's passion for music in vocal art became apparent at age six when she began singing lessons with Melody Dobson. These singing lessons led her to participate numerous times over the years in the Greater Moncton Music Festival as well as several New Brunswick provincial music festivals. Later as a clarinetist, she joined her middle and high school bands.
Erica also was a swimming instructor for several years where she taught at the preschool and junior levels. This evoked in her a passion for teaching and a joy in working with children.
Yet it is in singing that Erica has decided to devote herself, intending to pursue graduate studies in speech therapy.
While at university, Erica has had the opportunity to be a chorister in the Choeur du Département de l’Université de Moncton as well as the Chœur intergénérationnel du Faubourg du Mascaret, both led by Monique Richard. It has been her participation in the Atelier d'Opéra de l'Université de Moncton as a chorister and by landing lead roles, however, that has prompted in her a great curiosity about lyrical art and acting.
With her experiences, Erica now wants to take every opportunity to perfect this art as a performer and as a teacher.
