Lilli Ju Lin is excited to join the faculty at Alison Dawn Voice & Music as a piano teacher. She has a variety of different musical experiences, but piano has always been her first love!

Lilli studied piano with Jeff Joudrey in Truro, and has completed her Royal Conservatory of Music Grade 9 Certificate in Piano (Level 9 Piano, Level 8 Theory, Level 9 Harmony, and Level 9 History). She regularly competed at the Truro Music Festival as a soloist, in choirs and bands, and as an accompanist. In her senior year, she received the Mattatall Rose Bowl for Outstanding Intermediate/Senior Performer.

In addition to piano, she enjoys singing in choirs. Presently, she sings with Cantores Celestes (Kelly Galbraith) and Carleton Choristers (Christopher Lane). She has sung with the First Baptist Girls’ Choir (Jeff Joudrey), First Baptist Halifax Choir (David MacDonald, Allen Wayte), Symphony Nova Scotia Chorus (Jeff Joudrey), Ars Musica (Pierre Lavoie), Chœur de la Mission Saint-Charles (Le Festival International de Musique Baroque de Lamèque, Pierre Lavoie), and Colla Voce (Maureen Beckwith).

More “recently,” Lilli has discovered that performing in musicals is a lot of fun! She has performed with the Saint John Theatre Company (Sound of Music, Wizard of Oz, Mamma Mia, Elf in 2018, 9 to 5, Mary Poppins, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), KV Players (Jesus Christ Superstar, Something Rotten), and has helped behind the scenes with Spark Call Productions (Firebringer and Rent) and recent KVHS productions.

Lilli’s goal for her students is to help them set and realize their own musical goals, focusing on foundational skills and using a creative and individualized approach to help instill a joy of music through piano!
